High Mountain Half Marathon in Red River, NM

Red River had an amazing group of runners in attendance today for the High Mountain Half Run! The weather was beautiful but I did hear some mutterings about the wind being crazy.  I didn't really notice from the back of my friend Hank's motorcycle.  Thanks Hank!  That's right, I was on the back of Hank's bike taking photos like those photographers at the Tour De France Bicycle Race.  The only difference was that this is not France and no one was on a bicycle. Anyway, I am pretty sure I looked way cool plus it was super fun.  Of course the 5K'ers and 1/2 Marathoners were cool!  I had so much fun visiting with these amazing athletes.  They were all just plain nice!  Imagine being nice when someone is pointing a camera in your face yelling at you to wave when you are running up hill near 10,000 feet.  Not only do these people smile they even wave!

A huge shout out to all of the volunteers in Red River who make this event happen!  Impressive!  Congratulations to the winners and that means everyone that made it this morning!

High Mountain Half / Up Hill Both Ways

Up hill both ways is the only way to discribe the 5K and 1/2 Marathon run Saturday in Red River, New Mexico.  The weather was perfect, the course was a challenge, and the participants were some of the most amazing people I have ever met.  Three cheers to all the volunteers that made this event happen, did I mention it is Red River's first time to put on this event?  Everyone had a great time and qlitches were  few.  Congratualtions to all the runners and walkers.  We are looking forward to seeing you back next year!

Take a look at http://www.seemyprints.com/, type High Mountain Half, in the event search bar and you may see yourself!

Congrats Trevor!

A Wedding at Redbud Chapel

January 15, 2011
The Perfect Day For A Wedding!

Aly and I had our camera bag packed and ready to go Saturday morning and were excited about the wedding.  April and Chris were getting married at Redbud Chapel in Marlow's Redbud Park, which is the perfect place for nice indoor and outdoor shots.  We were not disappointed as this wedding was lovely.

The couple, with families in tow, looked amazing and were ready to get on with this simple and sweet ceremony.  It did not take long.  Shortly upon arrival, Chris and April are husband and wife and two families are one.  As I put this slideshow together I am struck by the way Chris looks at April and how she returns his gaze.  It makes my heart feel all mooshy.  It also makes me so happy for you both!

Congratulations guys!  Wishing you all the happiness in the world and thinking that you will  be giving each other that same look 30 years from now!

Favorite 2010 Christmas Moments

My favorite Christmas moments: Tanner putting the Christmas cupcakes in the frig when I asked him too, exhaustion after dinner, passed out after dinner, big family sing-a-long, and the group photo that no one wants to do but they humor me because I am annoying until it is done!  Most of all though, a Christmas Eve discussion about Christ and what He did, (no photo!) is my favorite.
