Favorite 2010 Christmas Moments

My favorite Christmas moments: Tanner putting the Christmas cupcakes in the frig when I asked him too, exhaustion after dinner, passed out after dinner, big family sing-a-long, and the group photo that no one wants to do but they humor me because I am annoying until it is done!  Most of all though, a Christmas Eve discussion about Christ and what He did, (no photo!) is my favorite.

Christmas for Jeremiah & Jordyn

I am excited about Christmas this year, but then I always am.  Christmas  photos are always fun to take and I have done several recently that I  love.  The ones that I took last week of Jeremiah and Jordyn are probably my favorites.  Dad brought them over dressed and picture perfect.  These photos are to be a Christmas surpise for Mom.  Dad became a little tense as Jordyn, being very excited about her new crawling skills, would not stay put.  Her brother thought Christmas pictures were fun for the first couple of shots and then lost interest in our covert photo shoot and opted for singing the Spiderman song.  Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer just did not do it for him!  My wood floors got a great polish job with me sliding around on my tummy trying for the perfect shot, so that is good and is one thing off my list!  If it does not feel like Christmas to you, just take a look at these kiddos and you will!  Merry Christmas to the Alvarado's and thank you for letting me photograph your beautiful kids.  This will be a favorite Christmas memory to me for many years!  Spiderman, Spiderman, da, da, da,  da,da,  da,da........

True Love

Being asked to be the photographer for a wedding is always an honor.  When the bride is the daughter of two of your sweetest life long friends it is an exceptional honor!

Charity and Derrick here is a sneak preview of some of my favorites that we took on Saturday night.  I will have the rest for you very soon.  To Marlon and Tina, sorting through these photos and seeing your sweet faces as you watch your little girl become a wife made me misty more than once.  I love you guys!

See what I mean!!!! Sniff....

Also, for the first time ever I had a helper while shooting this wedding and she rocked!  Jesse I have decided that I really like the team approach.  Thank you for your help and your photos are some of my favorites!  I really like the ones you took of Jeff, Stephen, and Mike and the chocolate fountain!  Oh dear…..

Just wrong on so many levels.....
And who are these characters anyway?!?

Family, Friends, and Friends That Seem Like Family!

I have lots of photos of girls and women and I decided they need to be shared.  Some of these photos are my family, some are friends, and others are friends that seem like family.  Any way I go about it these girls have touched my heart . As Thanksgiving approaches I am thankful for these very amazing women and girls!

The Fisher Family

I'm thinking this was a Wednesday afternoon well spent.  Thank you to Amanda and Chad for a great afternoon!  Not all mothers will actually get in a wheel barrel when you ask them to!

A Precious Family

Yesterday was Fisher Family photo day!  I have been looking forward to this session for a long time.  I have known the Fisher's since pre-baby days so taking photos of their expanded family has been on my list of things to do! Here is just a peek of the girls.  Big sister Evie is sheer happiness with a pink bow and Baby Olivia is a bundle of sweetness.

I will be posting photos of the whole fam in coming days but wanted to share these right away because
they make me happy!  I'm thinking they will you too!

Sorting and Picking

Recently I have been sorting photos that I took over the summer trying to decide which ones are suitable to display and hang in a litte gallery in Red River, NM and another in Oklahoma City, OK!  It is really exciting for me and lots of fun finding mattes and frames to display the photos in a unique and beautiful way.  I am hoping that those who view them and maybe even buy them will enjoy them as much as I did creating them.  How cool would that be?  Way cool because I had an absolute blast!

We did Karli's photos last spring and I think they are just to good not to post.  Michael Buble' because she loves him!

Senior Shoot for Jerimey

Jerimey, Thanks for a great time shooting Senior pictures!  You were a trooper even amid stickers in our hands and feet, not to mention swarming bees!  Who knew Senior pictures could be so dangerous?!  Congrats on your graduation my man!

Cimmaron, Laura, & Jakob

I am really happy with this slide show!  This precious family is so very wonderful.  It would be hard not to capture the love and  happiness radiating from them. What a wonderful day!  Thanks for the opportunity to do your photos guys.  It made me all sentimental and brought loads of memories of when Jeff & I had our baby boy.  You gave me a present and did not even realize it! Love~

Fall, Here or There

Most of my friends are aware that I spent the summer in Red River, NM this year.  It was wonderful and a great way to escape the Oklahoma heat.  I returned in September, which in Red River is the peak of Fall foliage.  Naturally I pulled out my camera and took a few shots before I hit the road leading home.  The unexpected pleasure is that I have had an extended fall season with Oklahoma Fall peaking now.  I have decided that
“Extended fall” is my new favorite time of the year.  The photo at the top of my blog was taken at a lake near my home. I’m thinking lovely, here or there!

My Friend Doug

In choosing a song for the slide show I always try to find one that is appropriate for the event and my subject’s personality.  Doug and I did not really know each other pre-senior pictures and song choice was difficult for me at first.   I like “Roll On” by Norah Jones. It is laid back, pleasant, and nice.  Holding a camera in someone’s face for several hours can be an awkward way to make friends!  After spending an afternoon with Doug, I found him to be laid back, easygoing, pleasant, and nice. I have to say that I like him even more than Nora Jones!  Doug is a great guy with a bright future.  Congratulations on your graduation Doug and thank you for an awesome photo shoot.

Levi's Senior Pictures

What an amazing day this was.  Levi is such a good sport and the day we took his Senior pics was no exception.  Conversation was not lacking with this outgoing guy and the laughter was abundant.  Levi, I hope your family enjoys these photos as much as we did taking them.  Thank you for a great time and congratulations on your upcoming graduation!

A Blog?????

I have never considered doing a blog until my very creative and wise daughter told me that I needed one for my photography sight.  Previous to her encouragement I had never considered my opinions all that worthy of sharing on the World Wide Web!  After realizing that it would provide my clients with a convenient avenue to view their photos sessions, I decided she was right.  I am glad she is around to push me out of the dark ages.  So, here we go!  A blog for Tidwell Photography, by Becky Tidwell!  How crazy is that?
